Partner, Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg LLP
oN’s first job out of college was acting in Hong Kong action movies; thank goodness he had a back-up plan. His 2-year goal is to build BALIF to 1K members strong—through a tri-pod blueprint of networking, social, and community outreach opportunities for our members.
BALIF Board Co-Chair
On Lu is a Partner in the San Francisco office of Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg LLP, one of the country's top-ten intellectual property firms. oN serves as Director of the firm's Asia Pacific Practice Group. His practice focuses on patent and trademark litigation, with a special fondness for anti-counterfeiting. Before becoming a lawyer, oN spent a decade launching hi-tech companies internationally. oN’s business background allows him to bridge the legal needs of his clients from a pragmatic, real-world perspective.
oN first got involved in BALIF as a 1L at USF. He had just come out of the closet and had never known any LGBT lawyers. Three years later, he was elected as USF’s first openly-gay Student Body President. His class voted him as the “Leader Who Contributed Most to the Character of the Law School” and selected him to speak at commencement. oN also wrote on the USF Law Review and taught Street Law to inner-city high school students.
oN speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, and Vietnamese. He is fan of volleyball, comic books, Hong Kong action movies, indoor rock climbing, skydiving, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, anything peanut butter, and traveling the world to collect passport stamps.
