The Diversity Committee of the Barristers Club Presents Barristers 4th Annual Diversity Reception

The Barristers Club is proud to honor Bijal Vakil and David Tsai. Bijal Vakil is a leader in the South Asian and Asian American communities in the Bay Area and around the country. He currently serves on the Board of Governors for the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (former Regional Governor and Secretary), the Strategic Advisory Council for the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley (former President) and the President of the Asian Law Alliance. He is the recipient of the 2010 Minority Bar Association's Unity award. In addition, he serves on the Endorsements Committee for the National South Asian Bar Association. The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association named him as a Top 20 Under 40 Lawyer in 2010. Bijal is also a Lawyer Representative for the Northern District of California. Bijal is Executive Partner at White & Case LLP's Silicon Valley Office, and chairs its Taiwan Country Practice Group. He also sits on his Firm's Diversity and Pro Bono committees.
David Tsai has made significant contributions to the LGBT and Asian American communities in the Bay Area. He currently serves on the Asian American Bar Association Board of Directors and has previously served as the Diversity Director of the BASF Barristers Club and chaired Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom, the Minority Bar Coalition, and the ABA LGBT Litigator Committee. He was named 2011 National LGBT Bar Association Best Under 40 and 2010 Santa Clara County Bar Association Barrister of the Year. David has successfully represented LGBT and HIV+ clients in pro bono immigration cases with the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights, Asian Law Caucus, National Center for Lesbian Rights, and Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach. David is an attorney at Perkins Coie LLP's San Francisco office and focuses on intellectual property cases.
