BALIF's 43rd Annual Gala is on March 3, 2023, at the Julia Morgan Ballroom located at 465 California Street in San Francisco. If you haven't done so yet, now is the time to sponsor BALIF and purchase your tickets to the Gala.
Your sponsorship of BALIF and ticket purchases will fund law student scholarships, mentor programs, CLE, Amicus briefs on LGBTQI issues, LGBTQI recruiting, social events to LGBTQI lawyers, community outreach, and much more. If your business or firm would still like to sponsor the Gala, it is not too late to take advantage of some of the many benefits of sponsorship, such as recognition through the end of 2023 on the BALIF website and newsletter, and complimentary tickets to the gala.
The Gala is BALIF's largest annual event with more than 600 attendees, including lawyers, judges, lawmakers, legal professionals, students, and in-house counsel. Please join us to celebrate the amazing progress our community has made over the past year.

Why support BALIF?
- Our mission is to lead the LGBTQI+ legal community through advocacy, justice, community empowerment, and professional development.
- Despite Covid-19, BALIF has continued to offer robust CLE programming and events, including CLEs on trans issues, diversity, and allyship in the legal workplace; an HIV COVID forum; virtual legal clinics and trainings in partnership with the Oakland LGBT Center, Berkeley Law School, Transgender Gender-Variant Intersex Justice Project (TGIJP), and National Lawyers Guild (NLG).
- BALIF offers a mentorship program with over 100 participants; advocacy and education on issues that will increase diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, such as Proposition 16, changes to the California bar exam, and updates to the 2022 State Bar survey.
- BALIF strengthens the LGBTQI and other marginalized communities by partnering with other minority bar associations and organizations on social action initiatives, social events, scholarships/fellowships, and MCLE courses.
The Gala is our major annual fundraiser and provides the majority of BALIF’s funding. This year we hope to continue to bring in the vital Gala funds BALIF needs for our important work, including programs, training, social and networking events, and community giving.
Partner Level: $7,500
- Banner recognition as a Partner-level sponsor through the end of calendar year 2023 on BALIF website and in BALIF newsletter, and recognition at all BALIF sponsored functions, including firm logo displayed at Gala event, BALIF MCLE events, monthly networking receptions and law student functions.
- Admission for twenty people to 43rd Annual Dinner and Awards Gala.
- Admission to VIP reception before the Gala with in-house counsel, judges, BALIF Board of Directors and National LGBTQI Bar Association Board members.
- Custom, full-page Gala program advertisement.
Counsel Level: $5,000
- Priority recognition as a Counsel-level sponsor through the end of calendar year 2023 on BALIF website, in BALIF newsletter, and at all BALIF sponsored functions, including firm logo displayed at Gala event, BALIF MCLE events, monthly networking receptions and law student functions.
- Admission for ten people to 43rd Annual Dinner and Awards Gala.

Advocate Level: $2,500
- Priority recognition as Advocate-level sponsor through end of calendar year 2023 on BALIF website, in BALIF newsletter, and in all printed and online 2023 Gala materials.

- Custom, half-page Gala program advertisement.
Benefactor Level: $1,500

Patron LEVEL: $1,000
- Priority recognition as Patron-level sponsor through end of calendar year 2023 on BALIF website, in BALIF newsletter, and in all printed and online 2023 Gala materials.
- Admission for three people to 43rd Annual Dinner and Awards Gala.
Individual Sponsorship: $500
- Priority recognition as Individual sponsor through end of calendar year 2023 on BALIF website, in BALIF newsletter, and in all printed and online 2023 Gala materials.
- Admission for two people to 43rd Annual Dinner and Awards Gala.

Your firm/company may also participate in a limited number of additional sponsorship opportunities at the 2023 Gala event, including naming and branding recognition at various food, drink, and entertainment stations throughout the event, sponsoring the VIP Reception, and sponsoring the official Gala After-Party, likely in the Castro District of San Francisco. Prices for these additional sponsorship opportunities will range from $500 to $5,000+. Because these additional sponsorship opportunities are limited in number, please contact us as soon as possible if you are interested in any of these opportunities.
For your sponsorship and advertisement to appear in the 2022 Gala program, you must respond, and your payment must be received, by Friday, February 10, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. If you should encounter any problems, please do not hesitate to contact us.
