Meet with Roy Cooper, North Carolina’s Attorney General and Gubernatorial Candidate

On Friday, May 6th BALIF will meet with Roy Cooper, North Carolina’s Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate, to discuss North Carolina House Bill 2 (the “Public Facilities Privacy & Security Act”), which mandates restroom use according to whatever gender is noted on a person’s birth certificate and bans local governments from passing anti-discrimination ordinances.

AG Cooper is a vocal opponent of the Public Facilities & Security Act.  In his role as Attorney General, AG Cooper has refused to defend the legislation, and AG Cooper is currently challenging the sitting GOP Governor who advocated, supported, and ultimately signed the discriminatory legislation.

If you are interested in attending this event (at Vinson & Elkins, 555 Mission St #2000 in SF), please RSVP by 5:00pm Pacific on Thursday, May 5.  Space is limited.  There will be a $15 fee to cover the cost of your lunch (because AG Cooper is running for Governor, BALIF is not permitted to pay for the lunch), which you may pay when you register.
