Denise Bergin is partner at Weaver Austin Villeneuve & Sampson LLP, a boutique IP firm in Oakland. Her practice focuses on counseling clients on strategic patent portfolio development in a wide range of technologies, performing IP-related due diligence, and preparing opinions of non-infringement and invalidity. Areas of expertise include nanotechnology, green technology, sensors, chemical processing methods and equipment, and chemical and biological-related software. She began her legal career at Fish & Neave (now Ropes & Gray) in New York.
Denise graduated summa cum laude from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art with a B.E. in Chemical Engineering, and also received a M.E. in Chemical Engineering from the Cooper Union. She received her J.D. from University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
She lives in San Francisco with her wife.
