Realizing that tenacity could only get her so far as a soccer player, Jessica channels that energy now on behalf of her clients and in support of BALIF. As co-chair of BALIF, her goals for this year are to offer high-value events and services for BALIF members and to continue BALIF’s strong record of LGBT advocacy in the Bay Area and beyond.

Jessica Bogo is a litigation associate at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and serves as the Program Chair of the San Francisco office’s Summer Associate Program. In addition to serving on the BALIF Board of Directors, she also serves on the Board of Directors for the Pride Law Fund.Jessica’s practice focuses on commercial disputes in all phases of federal and state litigation. Before joining Pillsbury, Jessica worked as a Federal Litigation Attorney with the Federal Pro Bono Project, assisting pro se litigants with cases pending in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. In law school at Georgetown, Jessica served as the Director of the Appellate Advocacy Program, as a law fellow in the Legal Research and Writing Program, as a global teaching fellow in the International Law Program, and as a street law instructor in the Clinical Program. Jessica also represented clients accused of misdemeanor offenses and facing revocation of parole as a student attorney in the Criminal Justice Clinic.
Before law school Jessica worked as a litigation paralegal for a business and employment litigation firm in Northern Virginia and as a business-intelligence consultant for Fortune 100 clients. Jessica has a BA in English and Theatre from Davidson College.
Jessica volunteers with the San Francisco Bar Association’s Mock Trial Program as an attorney coach of the Balboa High School team, which placed first in the 2013 San Francisco Mock Trial Tournament.She is originally from Georgia, loves hiking in Northern California’s humidity-free parks, and still enjoys playing soccer.
