Job Description:
The Pittsburgh office of McGuireWoods is seeking a sharp, driven associate with 3–6 years of experience to join a national labor and employment practice known for its urgency, nuance, and strategic impact. This is front-line work—advising on executive mobility, litigating restrictive covenants, managing reputational risk, and supporting employment diligence and post-transaction integration in private equity and M&A deals.
You will work side-by-side with a partner known for handling sensitive, mission-critical matters where discretion and precision are paramount. You will be brought in early, trusted with meaningful responsibilities, and mentored with intention. You will be expected to move quickly, think strategically, and deliver under pressure to help clients solve complex problems in real time.
With nearly 60 lawyers in the United States and Europe, our labor and employment team handles upwards of 4,000 employment-related matters each year. McGuireWoods’ clients include local, national and multinational employers ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses and nonprofits. We cross borders, practices and industries in the United States and around the world, collaborating with colleagues and managing resources to deliver the highest value to clients. We offer our employer clients top-notch defense in single-plaintiff, class, and representative actions involving federal and state claims of discrimination, harassment, trade secret misappropriation, and wage and hour violations, among others. In addition, we counsel employers in every aspect of the employer/employee relationship, including federal, state and international law compliance; traditional labor issues; internal investigations; and executive compensation. Recognition by Chambers USA in recent years for our labor and employment regional practices plus nearly a dozen rankings for individual attorneys.
McGuireWoods, one of the world’s leading law firms, has provided legal solutions to corporate, individual and nonprofit clients since 1834. Along with excellent benefits, McGuireWoods offers our attorneys a competitive salary with hours and merit bonus opportunities and billable hours credit for pro bono work.
