George Tran is a Deputy District Attorney at the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, with prosecutorial experience in several Bay Area counties including San Francisco and Sonoma.  He earned his bachelor’s degree at UCLA, and received his law degree at UC Hastings.  George is dedicated to mentoring youth, enhancing life, and building strong community bridges in the Bay Area. 

While in law school George was active with Student Government (ASUCH) as Secretary, Black Law Students Association as Secretary, and OUTLAW as a member.  George was part of the Civil Justice Clinic and provided access to legal representation to those underserved.  There he represented a client through an employment litigation and a family through a landlord-tenant dispute.

In addition to serving on the BALIF Board of Directors, he also serves as Vice Chair of the Asian American Bar Association LGBT Committee. 

George was born and raised in Southern California.  His parents immigrated to the United States as refugees after the Vietnam War.  In his free time, George enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, and spending time with his dog, Gunther, who he adopted from the shelter.
