On Monday and Tuesday, June 7-8, 2010, the BALIF Outreach Committee joined forces with Marriage Equality USA for election day outreach at Alameda County BART stations. We not only reminded commuters to vote, but also raised awareness about Superior Court Judge candidate, Victoria Kolakowski. Ms. Kolakowski won 45% of the vote–nearly 13% more than the next highest candidate, John Creighton, whom she will face in a runoff election in November. If elected, she will become the first openly LGBT judge in Alameda County , and the first openly transgender judge in the country.
